Who would make a good “Learner?”
- Demonstrates readiness for career development
- Is open to feedback and even more so eager for feedback
- Is willing and able to provide a safe environment for raters to give honest feedback
- Open to an objective perspective and willing to invite raters who will be constructive
- Does not have ongoing performance-based issues
- Is motivated to make time to extract insights from LUMEN and/or an internal mentor
- Has a sponsor whose role is well-defined with respect to involvement, support and feedback
- Can effectively discuss specific examples to enhance strengths and address growth areas.
Who would make a good “Rater?”
- Is committed to others’ growth and development
- Able to frame feedback in a manner that allows learner to gain insights
- Comfortable delivering constructive feedback
- Has a relationship with the learner that is strong or could be strengthened through LUMEN
- Willing to take 5-10 minutes on a weekly or monthly basis to give feedback
